A former school dormitory turned loft for an architectural designer in Soho.
This project, recently featured in Dwell, is a renovation of a residence within a historically landmarked former school building in the Soho neighborhood of Manhattan. At 1,500 square feet, the project seeks a clean, minimal counterpoint to the rich material conditions already present in the space. A magnificent double height great room is crisply finished with desaturated finishes that offset the complex beauty of an existing brick wall, while metal and plywood accent details provide a modern flourish in surrounding rooms.
This project was a collaboration with Jennifer Chang and Charlie Able. Photography by Will Choi and Nick Glimenakis.
